Mr. Garrison graduated from the University of Missouri –Columbia in 1999 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Education. He later earned his Masters degree in Secondary Administration and an Education Specialist degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO.
Mr. Garrison’s education career began in 1999 when he was hired to teach business and serve as an assistant coach in both football and basketball at Chillicothe High School. In 2004 Mr. Garrison was hired as the head boys basketball coach at Excelsior Springs High School and led them to a district championship in 2006. He then moved on to Park Hill High School where he served as the head boys basketball coach for eight years, including a district championship in 2014.
In 2015, Mr. Garrison moved to the North Kansas City School District where he first served as the Activities Director at Winnetonka High School. In 2018, Mr. Garrison became the Activities Director at North Kansas City High School. Mr. Garrison believes that activities help in the development of life skills, and he encourages all students to be involved at Northtown. He is excited to be a part of the Northtown family as we continue to strive for excellence in academics, athletics, and activities.
David is married to his high school sweetheart, Katie, and they have three children.
