th, The Northtown hornets track team participated in the Grain Valley Invitational. This meet featured several powerhouse schools, including: Grain Valley High School, Lee's Summit West High School, Raymore-Peculiar High School, Blue Springs High School, Fort Osage High School, Ruskin High School, and Blue Springs South High School.

100 Meter:Â In the 100-meter dash for the girls
Kennady Washington continued her hot streak with another first-place victory, with a time of 12.69.

100 Meter Hurdles: Morgan Verdught placed second, only being beaten by Grain Valley's JayOnna Perry.

4x200: In the 4x200 the girls placed 3
rd in this event with a time of 1:53.18. The girls on this team were,
Tajanique Carter, Ar'Janay Landers, Rajanea Landers, and Ariana Rodgers.

4x100: In the 4x100 the Northtown girls placed 2
nd in this event with a time of 51.48, only beaten by the state-leading Blue Springs women. The girls on this team were, Rajanea Landers,
Tajanique Carter,
Liana Wainit, and
Kennady Washington.

400 Meter Dash: Tom Murgus continued to show flashes of potential, placing 5
th and running 53.15.

Pole Vault: Katie Dinh placed 8
th with a vault of 1.97 meters. For the boys, Jack Perez placed 7
th with a jump of 2.88 meters.

Discus: Army-commit Danny Joiner placed 2
nd with a throw of 46.69 meters. For the girls, Madison Foley threw 34.09 meters, which was good for 3
rd place

300-meter Hurdles: Morgan Verdught placed 3
rd, against a stacked field, with a time of 50.06.

Javelin: Danny Joiner picked up another big throw, he placed 1
st with a throw of 48.17 meters.

Shot Put: Danny Joiner completes the podium sweep, placing second with a throw of 16.32 meter. Madison Foley placed as well. She placed 3
rd in her event with a throw of 10.49 meters.

Another good night by the Hornet's track squad. Next week they compete at the Park Hill Invitational, as their last meet before the postseason begins.
