This is the game that comes once in a generation. This Friday, Northtown will take on the Platte County Pirates. It will be a big-time rematch against Platte County where the Hornets came from behind to win 42-37.
Â
The Hornets will be coming in very rested as last week's game against Oak park was canceled due to COVID-19. North Kansas City has featured a good game plan all season, but the key to this game will be limiting mistakes and capitalizing on opportunities. Too many games this season have come within one score, and this game will determine if the Hornets advance in the Missouri state high school playoffs.
Â
The Pirates are led by one of the top quarterbacks in the metro in phenom Chris Rhunke who spearheads a passing game the Hornets are going to have to deal with all night. Last game was a come from behind victory led by big defense and special teams plays. The Hornets are going to have to be up for the challenge again.
Â
Their secondary, led by senior
Malik Johnson and sophomore
Keilan Powell Jr. are ready to lead the defensive backs in a game where they will be tested early and often. Senior LB/TEÂ
Daniel Joiner ( ) and junior defensive tackleÂ
Domonique Orange should be in the Pirates backfield all game.  Johnson said, "It's going to be a long game, but I believe we are ready."
Â
This game should be a fun one to watch!
