The Hornets suffered a tough loss to Fort Osage 19-14 on Friday, Sept. 11. The Hornets felt the loss of senior running back Jeremy Brown and junior quarterback Kail Williams, with junior quarterback Rico Pearson and sophomore running back Jalen Frier stepping in to fill the roles.

The Hornets offense suffered three fumbles, and had a hard time recovering momentum after those.
The Hornets defense provided a bright spot in the game with sophomore defensive back Keilan Powell snagging two interceptions and two tackles.

The defense proved tough against the Fort Osage run game.
"We lost to ourselves; we didn't lose to Fort Osage," Junior defensive lineman Dominique Orange said.

The Hornets take on the Platte County Pirates at 7pm on Friday, Sept. 18 at Pirates Stadium in Platte City, Mo.
