North Kansas City will travel to Platte County in a showdown this Friday at 7pm. The Pirates on a 3 game winning streak face the 2-1 Hornets. The Pirates are led by Senior quarterback phenom Chris Rhunke who spearheads a passing game that the Hornets are going to have to deal with all night. The Hornets, led by Senior LB/TE Daniel Joiner Jr., are hungry after a close lose to the Fort Osage Indians just last week.
 
The Hornets are ready to bounce back stronger than ever after the lose, they are very eager to give someone else a loss. Senior corner Malik Johnson said "This week we have worked harder than ever. That loss made us stronger. I'm happy we got it early in the season, because without it we wouldn't know how to keep striving to the next game".

It's going to be a long night as both teams strengths will face off. Chris Rhunke, who is leading the metro in passing yards, and all-state Senior receiver Dayton Mitchell will face a strong hornet's defensive line led by big time Junior defensive tackle Domonique Orange who should be in the Pirates backfield all game.  "It's going to be a long game, but I believe we  are ready" said Junior safety Chris Kelsey.
