The North Kansas City Hornets took on the Oak Park Northmen away at Oak Park, Hornets looking for their 4
th consecutive win.
Â
The Hornets started off slow in the first set, letting the Northmen gain an early lead. Both teams were determined to win but a multitude of kills by
Calissa Minatee and the tandem of Estes, Reese and Washington, the Lady Hornets took the first set 25-18.
Â
From there, it only warmed up further. The Hornets were unstoppable, the Northmen's effort just wasn't enough. The momentum gained by Northtown was too big of a task for Oak Park. The Lady Hornets claimed the second set by a score of 25-11.
Â
In the third set, the Lady Hornets shut the door. They took over and played the game they wanted. As mentioned, when these ladies play with energy, they're hard to beat and that rang true against the Northmen, who just couldn't put together the necessary bursts to complete the comeback. Ultimately, the Hornets were consistent and took the win. Another outstanding performance to beat the Northmen 3-0.
Â
We hope to see you tomorrow, September 23
rd as the Hornets look to go for their fifth straight win, taking on conference rival Staley, just up north on the Falcon's home court.
