Volleyball vs Park Hill South Recap

The Hornets of North Kansas City, on an incredible run this season we're looking for another win against the Panthers of Park Hill South at home last night.

Coming into the contest, the Hornets sat at 7-3. After a 2-2 start, the Hornets rattled off 4 straight wins, finally dropping the streak to Staley before picking back up against St. Joe Central.

The Panthers, sat at 10-5 coming into the contest fresh off an 8 game win streak, before dropping a game to reigning state champ, Liberty North.

From the opening serve, this game was destined to be a back-and-forth contest. You have to love conference play.

The Lady Hornets were off to a late start at a deficit of 10 points. Amazing spikes from Calissa Minatee lead the Hornets on. North Kansas City made consecutive efforts that sparked hope. Although, back and forth, the Panthers took the first set 25-17.

However, early in the second set, the Hornets made great efforts to keep the contest going. Staggering saves from Maddie Ottis, enforced a tight game between the Hornets and Panthers. The Lady Hornets played with passion but despite their efforts, they lost 19-25.

The Lady Hornets kept the third set close. The gap between the two was no more than 2 points. In 50-50 games, everything matters, and the Panthers made the plays necessary to take home the win.

As we say, don't fret; there's plenty of time to gain confidence and skill before you have to win to stay alive.

We hope to see you tomorrow, September 30th as the Hornets are away to take on Lee's Summit, in another conference matchup.
