After a turbulent season, the first with a sub-.500 record in the 9 years
Jeffery Lacy has been at the helm, the Lady Hornets basketball team looks for new beginnings, in the absence of GCU guard, Ja'Mya Powell-Smith.
Â
"It's hard to replace big-tome scorers, but this team has the potential to match those numbers" Lacy saidÂ
Along with returning program "veterans" a new era of talent has been ushered in. Freshman
LaNicia Parker has quickly adjusted to the high-school game, and in the limited floor time throughout the off-season, has shown real scoring talent.
Â
"She's just a natural scorer. It helps, because with Ja'Mya gone, I have to pick up some of that scoring load, as well as being more of a leader. She fits well, and I'm excited to get started." Said senior
Kennady Washington.
