Hailey Black may not be the flashiest player on the team, she may not show off every time she scores a basket. But that doesn't mean she should be off your radar completely.

   Black is a 5'9, determined athlete that's been playing for the Hornet's Varsity Women's basketball team for 3 years. It's clear that her talent was made from hard work. Her hours spent in the gym—including her weekends—proves Blacks' desire to reach the next level is strong.  However, we all know growth isn't always an easy path.

    At the height of her season in her sophomore year, Black faced an injury that would bench her for the rest of the season. However, an injury wouldn't keep Black down for long, during her time out Black trained constantly, working until she became better than before.

    Now a junior, Black is the embodiment of what hard work gets you. After spending her summer training, Black shares that her real goal is to understand her teammates better. And after watching her play alongside them, it's clear she's done just that. Hailey Black has an unshakable passion for basketball and she's a player you don't want to underestimate.

So remember, if you're ever taking on the Lady Hornets, keep an eye out for number 33.
