It took a little more than one minute for the 2023 Hornet Girls Soccer team to make their presence known as an Ariana Perez strike found the back of the Chrisman net to make it a 1-0 match. And Northtown never looked back. Adriana Andretti followed with a goal later in the first half and Abby Knipp got the insurance goal in the second half on the way to a 3-0 final.

Not only was it a strong offensive performance to start their "home" season (played at Winnetonka due to weather for the second year in a row), but senior Briana Ramirez kept the Bears from breaking through stopping multiple shots on goal from the Chrisman offense. The Hornets are now victors of two of their last three against the Chrisman Bears, but before that were in a 23 game losing streak against the Bears.

The match also set the tone that this senior laden team is one to watch this year. That team will be put to the test next on Tuesday against the Lady Oakies from rival Oak Park in the opener of their conference season.
